Wishnests may process personal information necessary to operate the Platform, manage accounts and nests, display wishes, send notifications, support users, verify payments, process payouts and refunds, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations.

Depending on how the Platform is used, information may include:

Account and contact information.

Names and details associated with nests.

Wishes, photographs, videos, and voice notes.

Guest email addresses and other submission details.

Payment transaction references and related records.

Payout Account details, account name lookups, and the last four digits of a BVN.

Identity documents, ID numbers, selfies, and the results of identity checks.

Technical information needed for security and service operation.

Where anonymous submissions are supported, a Guest may choose to hide their name from other users viewing the wish.

Anonymity on the Platform does not mean that the Guest's identity is unknown to Wishnests, the Payment Partner, or other service providers.

Information required to operate the service, prevent fraud, investigate abuse, process payments and refunds, or comply with legal obligations may be processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

Wishnests is designed so that anonymous Guests' email addresses are not displayed to Nest Owners, Co-hosts, Celebrants, or other Guests.

Where the Platform supports sending thank-you messages to anonymous Guests, the relevant functionality may enable the message to reach the Guest without disclosing their email address to the Nest Owner.

This does not prevent disclosure where required by law or through a lawful process.

Whether Guests can view one another's wishes depends on the settings of the relevant nest.

Users should not assume that a wish is private unless the Platform clearly indicates that it is private or restricted.

Wishnests is designed so that personal nest pages are not indexed by search engines.

However, we cannot guarantee that third-party search engines, messaging services, or other external platforms will never display information about a shared link.

Anyone with access to a shared link may be able to access the information available through that link, subject to the nest's settings and access controls.

Users should exercise care when sharing links and uploading personal information.

Identity checks are reviewed by the Wishnests team. The Celebrant provides their legal name, date of birth, a government ID number (NIN, international passport, voter's card, or driver's licence), a photograph of that ID, and a live selfie.

Wishnests may approve, reject, revoke, or block an identity check, and will notify the person by email. Up to 3 checks may be submitted in any 30 days.

Wishnests stores these details and photographs privately and logs each time staff open the photographs. It keeps only the last four digits of a BVN, along with coded fingerprints of ID numbers, BVNs, bank accounts, and ID photographs, used to detect when the same details are used across accounts.

Wishnests uses Google Analytics to understand how the Platform is used. It sets cookies and collects usage information such as the kinds of pages visited, the device and browser used, and the general location. Nest and invite identifiers, private links, and page titles are removed before this information is sent, and wishes are never included.

Wishnests may share relevant information with service providers such as the Payment Partner, hosting providers, email delivery services, and analytics providers where necessary and lawful to provide the services.

The information shared will depend on the relevant service and processing arrangement.

Wishnests will implement appropriate safeguards to protect personal information in accordance with applicable legal obligations.

However, no online system can guarantee absolute security.

Users should take reasonable care when sharing links, uploading media, and providing personal information.

Personal information will be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, subject to applicable law, legitimate operational requirements, dispute handling, and financial record-retention obligations.

Users may delete their own account from their profile, once no Payout is owed to them. Other requests to access, correct, or delete personal information may be submitted through the contact details in these Terms or the Privacy Policy.

Records of Payouts already sent are kept after an account is deleted, with the account number reduced to its last four digits. The fingerprints described in Section 10.6 are also kept. Videos made of a nest's wishes are deleted after 90 days. Deletion may be subject to legal retention obligations or other lawful grounds for continued processing.

Wishnests will handle personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and applicable Nigerian data protection law, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
